I’ve always just paid as I go for maintenance on my 2016 BMW X4, but lately I’ve been thinking about whether a prepaid service package would actually save me money over a couple of years. The dealer offered me one when I bought the car used but it seemed overpriced. However I’ve seen some independent BMW specialists offering their own versions that cover oil changes, filters, brake fluid, and inspection for a flat yearly fee. I’ve been looking at a dedicated contract plan abu dhabi independent shops provide and wondering if anyone here has signed up for something like that and actually came out ahead. I drive about 20k km a year so I’d need at least two services annually. Does anyone have experience with prepaid plans from independent garages? Are there hidden exclusions or do they actually cover what they say? I’m tempted by the convenience of not thinking about it but also don’t want to prepay and then find out they use cheap oil or try to upsell everything else.
